Alexandria Sanitation Authority - Process Air Compressor (Pac) System Upgrade (Alexandria , VA)
BDE teamed with WEG Transformer, Trachte Enclosures, Curtis Power Solutions and SAI Advanced Power Solutions to provide a customized powerhouse and utility switchgear system.
The team implemented design, supply and management of low voltage distribution systems at one of Alexandria’s main sanitation processing facilities. BDE supplied a custom Powerhouse, UL1558 low voltage switchgear lineup, and MVI Transformers. BDE teamed with generator provider Curtis Engine to resolve Alexandria’s power distribution issues at this facility. This Main-Tie-Main switchgear is setup to handle (2) 3200A Dominion VA feeders and it employs ABB UFES technology for high speed arc flash mitigation. The control system within the gear is custom designed to transfer power sources whenever there is a significant power interruption to one of Dominion VA Power’s incoming lines.
