Design, installation and commissioning of an arc flash mitigation system on (7) existing substations at Back River WWTP. Arc Flash Hazard Analysis found these (7) substations to be in Hazardous High Incident Energy situations. As a solution, BDE LLC then reconditioned (27) low voltage drawout circuit breakers, outfitted them with arc mitigation technology, designed/supplied (7) remote breaker control cabinets and installed remote racking systems.

During this process, we also troubleshot and repaired various issues such as inoperable breaker position switches, broken undervoltage relays and asbestos abatement for older breakers. Installation was completed by BDE LLC and Enterprise Electric in an 18 month timeframe to fit within the plants sporatic outage schedule.
