BDE delivered custom powerhouse equipment, UL1558 low-voltage switchgear lineup, and MVI transformers. The switchgear was configured to handle (2) 3200A Dominion VA feeders and enabled fast, controlled power transfer when utility conditions changed.
Sanitation infrastructure is mission-critical. This system helps reduce operational risk by maintaining stable distribution performance and enabling intelligent transfer behavior during significant power interruptions.

BDE partnered with WEG Transformers, Trachte Enclosures, Curtis Power Solutions, and SAI Advanced Power Solutions to engineer and deploy a customized powerhouse and utility switchgear system for the Process Air Compressor (PAC) upgrade at the Alexandria Sanitation Authority facility.
The team designed, supplied, and managed a UL1558 low-voltage switchgear lineup integrated with main-tie-main configuration, MV transformers, and advanced arc flash mitigation systems. The system was engineered to support (2) 3200A Dominion VA feeders while maintaining high-speed protective coordination and fault mitigation.
The custom control architecture ensures seamless power transfer during utility disturbances, protecting critical treatment operations from voltage drops, interruptions, or grid instability.
